learning mixing...

can someone please recommend to me a good book/cd/dvd anything about mixing.. something that will really train my ears. i know that no single book can tell me howto mix my songs but i just need some big tips because these songs are kicking my butt and i cant get them to sound good.!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks guys. sorry for the noobish.

theres a dvd called "mix it like a record", look that up on google, and also there is a book called "mixing with your mind". try does

is mix it like a record really really good? cause i dunno if i can justify spending $130 on a dvd i know theres more to it than a dvd, but thats still alot regardless.

for beginners i heard its really good, but for season pro's it might be to simple. but i've heard great reviews about it. tons of tips to set you in the right direction. do a search on here about the dvd, i think a few people were talking about it. good luck
