Not bad man - I enjoy the music and the instruments seems to be well tracked. I think the mix is a little too bright for my taste, the pan on the ride is a little extreme. I like the guitars - Thanks for sharing - this is good music!

The mix is bright. Too many high highs. Also, I feel like the mix is breathing too much depending on the snare? It might be the bass drum, but I think it's the snare. Also, I'm not feeling the mix down in the low end. Not very warm, very digital. The levels are pretty good, tho, I think the mix is good for a beginner. I started getting a headache/fatigue about 2 minutes into the song, tho, so I had to stop...Pretty good performance too!

not sure how much of the edits you did, but man for Heavy Metal you nailed it pretty damn well... Most songs on this site I can not listen to all the way through but this one I did... GOOD JOB...

Thank you so much, i realy apreciate the compliment. I really did not edit much, because i'm no very good at it yet, way more practice needed, i did not edit the drums or tune the vocals. Every time there was a mistake i stoped recording and retaked that part. I push them as far as i could (the band) we got to a point when it was as "good" as it was going to get. I added a snare sample under the real snare for the more aggressive part of the song, just to make it sound more metalic i guess, but not to the whole song, bass is DI and guitars is two passes of stereo tracks pand L and R, vocals there is one main and two for the screaming parts. So here is the revised version of it Please let me know what you guys think. |

I like this one better, but it's pumping a little much as Alex suggested. It seems a little louder. Check your ultra low frequencies and see if there's stuff you can't hear down there maybe in the kick you could cut out to give you more headroom. You may also want to try something like the wave linear multiband to give you more before the limiter on you stereo bus. The mix sounds pretty damn good over all, just get on that pumping and mabye roll off the super highs in the guitars a bit. |

If they need it low, they certainly got it! I can listen to this one, not as much fatigue. I do think this is a little more squashed then it needs to be. I think less compression is in order in general. I you must use a lot of compression on your 2-bus, try using a HPF in your sidechain to get the mix pumping a little less along with the kick. I think less compression is needed overall; there is volume, but you're sacrificing impact. Turn the output down on your stereo comps, and try to get it the same volume as without them...Then compare the impact of the two (Turn up your speakers if you want more volume)...Is that compression really adding to the mix, or subtracting from it? (Well, by definition, it IS subratracting... )

Very good points... I agree the compression is taking away the impact in the transitions. also, even tho i'm happy whit the bass sound, how could i make it sound more (mudvayne, slipknot) I have not even a clue of how to aproach that, what should i try? of course Andy Wallace and his magic are probably the reason, but is ther anythin I can Try? Thanks Jesse |

This is one of the best mixes I have heard posted on this board. I would highly encourage to keep honing your craft because I think 'you've got it'! Good Work
