Some samples of current music composition/keyboard. Playing continuously throughout the tracks until I am satisfied with the outcome in the recording process, I never play these compositions again after they are finished. Guitar compositions on the other-hand are always part of my stage repertoire and there are works from as early as 1980 that are part of that. |

mp3, mp4 wav probably cover most listeners. The SoundCloud accounts are popular too. I'll happily listen to and give feedback regarding your work. John- |

Thread Starter | Thanks John, will see if I can post in MP3 for starters. / Added note: In my recordings I will sometimes create natural sounds for complimentary background "noises". The waves in GulfWater Blues, the rolling muted thunder in RainDancer, and the bird in Blue God omen are generated by my keyboard playing and are not sampled from a sound library. Enjoy the challenge. Cheers! / Favorite Guitarists: Yepes Narcisco playing Tarrega. Video Salute: YouTube - Omaggio a Tribute to Narciso Yepes |

Your mp3 did play, although the first 13 seconds appear to be silence only. I don't understand the goal of the Lauren's Waltz track, meaning what is the overall sonic footprint you are seeking? For the most part, this file sounds like audio coming from down the hallway, particularly respect to those elements that accompany the piano. When you play this track alongside a commercial release from a somewhat similar genre, perhaps the Leonard Cohen Future record just to choose an example, there would not be much similarity. Again, context is everything and since I was unable to listen to your other postings because of file type, I am not informed of the greater picture. John- |

Thanks for the first impressions, John. "Audio from down the hallway" is good, my intention was for the track to sound like music you would be hearing from across the boulevard from a Parisian coffeehouse at 4:00 PM.

For those of you who are able to "see" my music via Windows Media Player courtesy of Vista/or Seven operating system you will note that there is no initial lapse of visual silence as I introduce a little tape hiss to warm the pan before adding ingredients. As a pianist (cross-lateral) I never have to play hand over hand, regardless of speed of playing. One hand takes up where the other leaves off. All instrument tracks are recorded in stereo pairs and later "panned" to the rhythm of the composition to create a "standing wave". This is my signature in all my recordings. Thus a non-linear effect. http://www.falstad.com/mathphysics.html |

At present I am gearing up to start recording guitar/keyboard compositions from my repertoire. Will post in MP3 from here on out as the last wav.file post of this last track was full of distortion from the upload. (deleted). Thanks for the listen. Happy Holidays! Hi there AfterViewer Happy Holidays Listened to your MP3 "the Guitar sonata"...I found the melody lines very interesting...very pleasing....nice...at times "somewhat" disjointed to my ears....certain places sounded a little out of step with other parts...but not sure if that was your intention....but I like the style... Being left handed myself....I always pick up on your Lefthand tracks title!! I'm not sure I fully understand your description of melody playing...is this related to left hand ability or is it just a different style of playing... I've always played organ (church stuff) with some very minor training in piano...and I rarely think about using foot pedals anymore...LOL don't know if I could even do that now...anyway I'm interested in more info on that playing style.. Are you primarily into creating experimental music and sound? What equipment do you use to make your recordings? I currently have some older Roland keyboards (S50/ProE) and newer Roland FantomX7. I use Cubase/RME FF800/A&H ZEDR16/Native Instruments VST/Kore controller and lots of vintage tape decks and microphones... Also if you have problems with posting or getting responses to WMA files and the like...a great way to post your music is using music sites like SoundCloud or SoundClick.... Please check out some of my music too and tell me what you like or don't like! Also gives you an idea of the music sites out there which are both free! Hey djm! Thanks for the listen. Explanation: Chording for me is now a matter of harmonics intersecting at times during tracking whether they be in diatonic/Major or minor scales (including 5 note Chinese scale). No predetermined chording. Sometimes I am using piano that orchestrates if I hold/sustain. (different than strings/piano combo). Music compositions are all math oriented, not really experimental. * Have been listening to some of the tracks you linked. SUPEREXCELLENT Atmospheric soundtracking. thumbsup, keep up the good work, Cheers!

Maybe I should send it to them and see if they would do that! I'll have to listen to it again and think vocal in there! I'm not much of a singer myself and just marginal on the ole instrumentals, but i really do enjoy recording and making tunes! Were those your lyrics or is that a line from some song? | |
