Speak -Help wanted on this recording of a reading on Oscar Wilde by Oscar Wilde

Hello

I did this recording for a while a go. It is meant to be a demo on a friends speak.
I usually don't do speak so I need some help and advice.

The recording was done with two mics: Røde K2 and Neumann km184.
The distance was 60 cm(2feet). We used a pop filter.

I have done no post except a high pass filter set to 80hz.

My questions:

1. Which mic should I choose?

2. I wonder what I could do to improve the sound. I have Wawes Directx to my disposal. But I have experimented with gate, compressor without good results. What can I do?

Thank you in advance

with regards

Provided the voice will not have accompaniment, I'd go with the Rode as the MK's HF content won't be helpful and adds a tissue-paper distraction instead. Your Rode sound is suitably round but still adequately defined. How will this voice recording of the author be used? Just curious as it sounds like an interesting project.

I am so sorry. The title of the post indicated that I know Oscar Wilde personally. The text is by Oscar Wilde but the voice heard is one of my friends. He hopes to get work as a reciter.

What post can I do to this recording?

Any advice for the next we do? What could I do different?

regards
