Tips for sellling equipment?

Not sure if I've posted this in the correct forum but here goes- can anyone give me some tips they might have from previous gear selling experiences?

I'm looking to sell a synth and the model in question seems to be a bit of a buyers market at the moment. I don't necessarily want to make cash off it, just recoup as much as what I paid for it as I possibly can. Anyone got any advice on what not to do?

cheers

Don't list the price as your lowest acceptable offer. EVERYONE will try and make you an offer...so start a bit higher. Be as descriptive as possible, and really sell it to them. Be honest, and if you have a spare cable or something laying around you don't need, THAT WORKS!, throw it in for free. People love a deal.

When I sold my electric drum kit, they were trying to talk me down on price. I told them, "how bout I throw in a free single chain kick pedal and a pair of sticks?" They loved it and took it. The kick pedal was sitting in my basement, unused for years, and the sticks were used, slightly worn, but in great shape.

if at all possible, be patient! sometimes there's just no one in the market for what you are selling... and sometimes it will be sold a few minutes after you list it. the best things come to those who wait.
