Good Hard Rock Band - Critique my ITB mix? :)

Hi guys.

Here is a rough mix of a Hard Rock band i´m producing and mixing. It´s all ITB. For tracking a soundtracks mx240, motu 2408 mk3 and another 1 that´s no longer made ´cause i couldn´t find it on their website

Here it is:
Live Again.mp3 - DivShare

If there is anything i can improve let me know, always want to learn from other people!

Enjoy!

In my opinion:

The snare needs more SMACK, don't be afraid to mix a sample in if you need to, it's pretty much par for the course.

Guitars need more bite.

Vocals are sitting to far back in the mix.

Definitely has the possibility to sound really good!

Thanks!

Thanks for the tips

What exactly do you mean by "guitars need more bite"?

I was mixing with high volume so since i heard everything pretty well i guess i didn´t notice the vocals being low.

They need to be brighter and more edgy for this type of mix. Instead of boosting a ton of high end, check your low mids. There's some "wool" going on that can be pulled out that will clean up the guitars.

Also, this is more of a taste thing, but I think some delay could help vocals out a lot.

I think what I'm hearing is a bit higher than 250.

When I said "instead of boosting ton of highs" I didn't mean to not do it at all.

CLA even says he doesn't mess with the mids and just puts a high shelf on guitar.
