Red face So, is this "good enough" for a live recording of band practice?

I recently posted a thread in the moan zone about my bass player/brother complaining about the sound quality of my recordings of band practice...

I figured I'd throw a track up here to see what you guys thought.

We record practice, so we can go back through later to see if we "jammed" anything worth building on... we're tracking live in a very small 15'x15'-ish studio with 7.5' ceilings, and for what it is, I'm quite happy with the quality of the mix, as are the singer and drummer.

Drums are all close mic'd with a mono overhead, the bass is DI'd, and the guitar is DI panned right, and 57 on amp panned left.

There are zero overdubs, edits, automation, etc...

So anyway, do you see any reason that this wouldn't be "good enough" for reference???

Thanks!
Steve

well i was going to say anything is good enough for band practice, but then i tried to listen to the recording... either you guys make some annoying noises for a few seconds then a few minutes of silence, my computer is ****ed up, or something went wrong with the conversion process. as far as i can tell at this point your brother is right... ha, anyone else hear what i am hearing?

Hmm... something went wrong with the upload. The file here on my comp sounds fine, but if I download it from GS, it doesn't work. I'll try again!

WTF??? It keeps telling me that I've already uploaded the file! Even if I rename it, it still won't let me upload it again!

Ok... it's working now!

Hey I tried to listen again, I think it's an issue with my computer because I just heard the same thing which is pretty much nothing. I'm on a mac, so it may have something to do with that. Kinda weird though, windows media player normally works fine for me, don't know what the issue is, sorry, but I'm sure it's great! As long as you can hear everything it's good enough for a reference band practice in my opinion.
