Thread Starter | 2 Different masters - one ITB, one OTB Originally mastered OTB, then ITB. Which is which, which do you like better? |

| dunno which one is which but.... the bottom one sounds more dynamic to me, the top one seemed very flat and compressed just my 2 cents |

Thread Starter | This is another attempt at matching the OTB mix (1.mp3). Used a tape saturation plugin this time to try and emulate the sound of the half inch analog tape on the OTB ver. I think its a bit closer but theres no doubt that its hard/impossible to match the sound of outboard gear ITB. I think the OTB seems louder and more dynamic in comparison, can't get the same loudness ITB without the whole thing falling to shit. Thoughts? |

| I'd say stick with OTB. It keeps everything sounding stable whereas ITB has some sort of digital crunch when the audio is pushed down by the comp/limiter. The tape saturation plugin isn't impressing me much. |

Thread Starter | Yeah you're right. I don't have access to the OTB setup so I've been trying to come up with the closest match. I don't think it can be done... |

| It's such a bummer that we can't make things sound the way we want when we're limited ITB, but it's SO rewarding when we buy that single piece of outboard gear that works miracles. |
