HipPop Song- Will be on radio next week

Hi all
I recorded this song and am finalising the mix tomorrow.
The song will go straight on a popular radio station in New Zealand.
I know I need to do some de-essing and there are a couple of horrible BV's in the verses I'm planning on cutting out.
Other than that does anyone have any suggestions for adding some depth, width or any other comments. I just feel it needs to sound a bit bigger really.

BTW I used a little bit of eq and compression on the master in order to get a bit closer to what the master will sound like (a bit bit of bass and low mid cutting with digirack comp).
Mixing on pro tools HD. Planning on switching in an OG ssl384 to replace the plugin compressor on the master.

Thanks a lot
Nathan

Definetly bring the drums up, maybe use a little compression on them or something, because they sound pretty boring. I don't know about New Zealand, but this track would NOT fly on US radio. This type of song needs to smack you in the face, and this doesn't do this at all. Try bringing the stereo field out a little bit, it sounds like most things are dead center.

As far as the song, the chorus is cheeeeeasy as hell. These lyrics sound like they were written by a 12 year old written a song for his first girlfriend. This love is so true? That would be lame even if Silk came out with it in 1985.

Sounds like boy-band stuff from 5-10 years ago. I enjoyed it though. Always good hearing different stuff.
