Hey that was pretty cool. Nice beat and that lead sound worked really well.
Different, but I like it!

Getting Started!

I did some projects to learn this one-man production thing... Using Logic... Made a site for them in hopes somebody would give me some feedback... This is my first post... Appreciate it... Thanks...

Hey all. Thought I would contribute to the one man band thread. I hope this doesn't stay a one man band for long, but in the mean time it's just me in the studio flying solo. Musicians are tough to find, as I'm sure you're all aware.

Heavy content below, enjoy...

Man you've done it again.
You are taking this one man production thing to a new level.
Love the production, it really does have a 70's feel, especially the tight drum sound.
Great tune most importantly.

And could you please stop learning to play new instruments, you are embarrassing me.

Here's a mostly electronic version of a "Kings Of Leon" song, which might upset some people.
The Eventide Harmonizer was worked overtime during this recording.

You’re definitely onto something:
the music seems to be crossing Led Zep with the Beatles,
the vox is self indulgent though it’s clear you CAN sing this properly, you went a bit far in the first part,
mix wise the vox are disconnected from the music.
there is no chorus.
If you can fix that you’re gonna have a sure winner. It’s definitely getting there. Keep working!

I won't use pitch correcting software. I use "coaching" maybe you've heard of it. It keeps working even when you don't have it on.

I think this is good, needs some counter rhythm percussion in the top, and a little more energy in the vox.
But it’s good. I like it.

Needs Bvox. Strings in the beginning are just a bit too much for me, BUT, it’s rather obvious you have chops man!
I like the B section, very nice, but, without the Bvox it doesn’t sound finished.Like the strings in the tail section. The Bvox in the tail are not enough, needs more.
It’s still great, but, too skeletal in the front and yes the tail can use even more. This song can handle it.

Hey, thank you very much.

I realized I forgot to list conga drum, I got one for $99 and stuck it on the bridge.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate it greatly!

I thought you were joking at first about needing Bvox because I tend to over do it (and everything else). But there are oohs that come in on the B section. But I guess maybe you mean harmony bits on the lead and answering type vocals, stuff like that? I thought about that, but I worked on this for such a long time that I just wanted to finish it.

When you say the strings are too much in the beginning, you mean too loud, or too uh, fruity?

Thanks very much for the feedback.

This is just a sound presentation of some of my guitars, but I really like this melody somehow. Really soothing and relaxing - could imagine drinking a cup of cowboy coffe at a nice fire in the evening to this song

Just noticed this thread, thought i'd chime in with some of my recent demo's.

Pretty much all Electro-Rockish, and all tracks are very much in demo states with lots of work left to do.

I vote for fruity.
You are correct in your assumption about the meaning of my remarks about bvox, re: answering vox.

Ah well, I don't mind a bit of fruit, musically speaking. I wish the strings were real, maybe that would seem less fruity.

This is my brand new single & video! it features a Gretsch White Falcon, Rickenbacker 360/12 & was written & built around a Martin 000-15M...I did everything on this, wrote music, lyrics, recorded all the instruments, the mixing, mastering of the song but also filmed and edited the whole video as well...

This is my official Facebook artist page, hope to see you there:
