New Pop Tune, how's my mix?

How's this mix sound overall?

Comments/Suggestions welcome.
What's good, what's bad?

What genre would you call this?

Anything helps,
Thanks in advance.

I don't know what genre it would be considered; def. Pop with a Caribbean flavor...
I enjoyed it.

I don't know .. the background voxes were a highlight if we heard more of those it would be even better (IMHO)

also i think about the first lines of the song a lot as a songwriter.... there is a lot of space between the first part of the melody and the continuation in the verses.. this can be awesome but overall it didn't totally work for me but i will listen again

OVerall very good!

It's a cool mix. I'd like the vocals to sit a little louder than where it is. That's just my opinion though.

It sounds pretty consistent throughout. But if you make the chorus blow up, it would be awesome. Like right after the guitar chugga chuggas right before the chorus hits. You could achieve that effect by lowering the verses a little.

Coolio, when you say "background voxes" are you talking about the gospel backups or the "Go" sample or both?

Thanks.

V.Cool

Every now and then a very cool song pops up here, this is one of them.

I agree. Both samples and gospel should come up or the fat bass and synth riff come down.

Could you tell me a place I can grab cool samples like that, or did you make them yourself?

Cheers

I love it!
The first impression was very strong (as in good) because it started off so loud.

But I think, like the above post, if the verses were brought down a little bit (but leaving the instrumentals at the beginning the way they are since they give that initial boomy feeling), it would give a little more dynamics.

Not my cup of tea, but definitely the production is awesome. Top notch.

They're in Logic 9. I'll try some things with these verse levels.
