Need mix critique (60's drums, 80's synths, 90's guitars)

Hey guys,

Need some general feedback on this track. I've been getting some good feedback on it amongst friends, but I was wondering whether it stands up to any to general scrutiny? Is it too busy?

I don't want to spend any more time on this unless its worth the effort - its part of a personal project taking musicians that have influenced me since I was a kid, and kinda remaking them in my own way/style.

imo it would be better if the bass did not match the guitar.like if the guitar is 16 notes make the bass like 8 notes.

Cool

If Rock and Roll and Drum and Bass had a baby - this track would be their creation. The vox sound trancy/D&B like along with the snare and those guitars give it that rock feel its dope I would need to listen on another set of monitors( it sounds pleasantly decent on my MacBook Speakers)

Hey guys,

Just wanted to say thank you so much for the feedback! Noticed some mistakes with it, so I'll edit that in due course. Mainly some digital clipping (due to buffer being too low), and eqing, as it comes across a bit muffled when compared to some modern tracks. Lastly need to open up the instruments a bit and see if I can pan them around a bit more.

@TonyV
I'll try doing the bass in 8 rather than 16 tomorrow and see if that makes a difference. Essentially to give it more of a rolling feel rather than a drive?

@Benton
Heh thanks man - I love mixing the genres up as it adds to the ear-candy. I come from a mash-up and sampling background so I'd try to mix all sorts together and see if it works. Only difference here is that I'm finally moving away from sampling, and going in to proper instrumentation. More to come!

I'll keep you lot updated on any changes. Essentially tweaking.

I'm guessing... you replaced the track? Because the bass is playing 8th notes, not 16th notes.

I like the song.
