Need advice, or opinions on mix.

This is a new "Mix" that I just finished.I like it but feel I can do better. Can anyone offer some suggestions? I really want to get good at this.

What are you monitoring on? i can only listen on some really crappy headphones right now but the vocals are pretty lost in the mix. I'd raise them pretty substantially . The kick could use a little more thump imo. I'd raise the bass too.

My .02. I'm no pro, just trying to help!

Thanks for the feedback, I am trying to get this mixing thing down.
the track is mixed ITB with all native logic pro 8 plug-ins,so I don't have the better plug-ins yet.But that won't stop me from trying.

WHAT??? How can it be catchy if the vocals are too low???

@akai96 The vocals are way too too Low. Raise them up.

Can you give me a brief description of your levels(in terms of db)

What level is you vocals? what level is your instrumental? I can help you out, because I have the same problem where as if I raise my vocals that I think they are too loud. I found a fix for it.

His song does not suck at all to me. His vibe is a bit different,I think it's crazy in a good way.

listening with good headphones now

the beat on the left** needs to go down a bit

main vocals needs to go up a tad

a little more bass would be nice too maybe

Im glad you like it, unlike some people like alehoe(LOL)

But alehoe you have to admit C'MON BE HONEST the beat was funky as a hell though. Its not like anything you usually hear on the radio(I would like to see black eye peas even try to attempt something like what I have done)

Sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread, but like I said before if you tell me the levels of your vocals I can gladly help you mix the track. I had the same problem too with mixing vocals with the instrumental. I actually like the melody in your song, I just want to hear what the vocals sound like(with a decent mix)

It's cool, bring up the vocals and someone will give you money for it. I know you've worked hard on it and it sounds very polished if a bit processed but I think it may just not be my thing. There's no weirdness or standout hook that brings me in. I don't have a mainstream taste though so you may be on the right track for what you want. Mix-wise I think you could achieve a better energy and impact with some more careful tracking. It sounds like a lot of eq was used and tracking it right will let you use less to get your goal. Just my opinion, very well done I think, just not my style so take my comments with a grain of salt.

Thanks,I did not track this,as a matter of fact,it was tracked very poorly. This was mixed for a friend of mine who wrote the song.

Awesome, I will take you up on that offer. I'll find the levels and post them.
