Anyone want to try mastering this song?

Hi guys!
First of all.. sorry for making another thread with the same song, but since this is more of an help request with the mastering bit i thought it might be ok.

So im about to go mental.. Ive tried so hard to improve my skills to end this project with this song but im stucked. I havent been able to finish a decent mix and i think that its in the mastering part that i mess up the most..

If anyone is interested i would really love if someone would like to try and mastering this song.. if it comes out good it would give me a superb reference to work against.. since im not going to give up trying to figure this out

EDIT: Corrupted files.. But heres the fixed one

Mp3 http://bazzflyfishing.com/BassMusic/...remaster_1.mp3 ( my attempt in mastering it )

WAVE file http://bazzflyfishing.com/BassMusic/Bass_Movingon_remaster_3x.rar
80meg or something like that

Best regards
Bass

Hey Bass,

The song cut's out after 2:40, was that intended?

Also, it's really a hot mix- can you export it again and pull either your master fader or master buss comp output down at least 6db? It would help out alot.

And lastly, the hi hat- either back off the high's in the eq a bit or pull it back about 2db. Just stands out a little too much.

Other than that, the guitar levels sound better!

Hope this helps, just my immediate observations. I really like the song. Reminds me of Queensryche and early Dream Theater. Good stuff! Excellent rocking song.

Back in -98 i was singing in a band called Mayadome, a band deeply inspired by DT and Queensryche =P Might be some of the old influenses you here here

Alright im on it right away. It wasnt my intention of to have the file cut off like that.. dunno why that happens. Ill rar the file this time, faster download and maybee it will stay in one piece that way lol
Back in a while.

Thanks man, it worked this time. Yeah, I'd be up for the session files! I'm still using Cubase 4, let's see what happens.

Here is my version. Didn't do too much, a little EQ and limiting. Averages are around 0db on the K-12 meter. Went for the warm approach. You can crank this on your stereo and it will still sound smooth.

Hugh thanx!!

By the way was it possible to open the C5 file in C4?

Cool, glad you like it. I once opened an Nuendo project in Cubase SL, but I can't open C4 in SL.

If it wouldn't be a pain, you could always export via batch process.
