WHAT???? Wait a minute, when you say timing issues do you mean the song is off beat or the vocals. Well, if that's the case what if I like the song that way???

What cheesy synth are you talking about??? Please be a little more descriptive(when you type)

Yeah I made the vocals sound that way(I don't really know what you mean when you say awful, it really doesn't tell much)

It sounds like your just saying it to just say it. Otherwise be more descriptive.

just something sounds a bit off at times

Yeah i think its just that you're thread title is CATCHY AS HELL!!! and then i think wow im curious whats it gonna sound like, and to me its a kind of catchy beat, but for the rest its just a monotonous synths and basses, which is not bad and decently mixed but not super duper catchy or anything

Footnote: its also just a style that you've got to dig, i think most pro's on this forum aren't really into this urban techno thing

Pretty hot. I think you should attenuate some of the highs in the mix.... sort of hurts my ears at times. Definitely have your own style.

Well, your the only person who has mentioned something about the track being off-beat. Im listening to the track to hear what you hear and I don't hear it being off-beat. Unless, it could be my style(the way how I record

Yeah, I see what your saying(I get your point)

When I was doing the song I was thinking about those catchy commercials where if you hear it once it sticks with you for the rest of the day(LOL)

Just a quick question for everybody. Did anybody understand the lyrics. I mixed the track and I can't hear what everybody else hears(because it banged in my ears so many times)

Was the vocals too low

I like it a lot. Some originality and balls. I can hang on that in a smoky car and imagine I'm a dangerous criminal, an auto-destructive artist or a vicious sexy beast. Also like the cheezy synths and the "too much" attitude in general. But maybe for a native speaker it's really too much, I don't know, I don't understand half of the lyrics.

The vocals are indeed low, but I take this track as an atmospheric one. Still, at 0.55, 1.35 and 2.10, with the low tuned stuff, it need more volume, yes.

Nice work.

Vocals too low. Lose the 'jump jump jump' unless you want to perform a tribute to Kriss Kross. Overall sounds like a bad 4 track recording...but...it has vibe for days. Get some better sounds, better mix, and I'll think the mothership has landed. Add some Bootsy and I'm sold. I think the poster who says it's off beat is talking about the push/pull with the straight drums to the swing style vocal. To me, that slight off kilter feel is what makes the track, don't lose that.

I edited the vocals, but now it seems that the track is uneven. Its weird to explain, it seems like I have to turn up some of the instruments because it sounds like the vocal is overpowering everything(Mabe its because Im so used to it, I cant hear what everybody else hears)

Please take a listen to my edited version(All the way at top) Its seperated by 2 and 3(2 meaning that its my rough cut and 3 meaning that its my edited version)

......one more thing...is that a sample "jump jump" sounds like it......I know it's a vibe but I would replace that with something more origonal sounding........heard it too many times before.

Okay I had got some critical feedback from close friends of mines. I turned up the vocals, because it was indeed too low.

I edited the track(I.e. BOBBY LOOP_2 VOCALS_4.mp3) Guys please check it out.

I also turned down the "Jump Jump" a little. Let me know if you guys can at least understand the lyrics. Do you guys think the vocals are too loud?

you should spread out the lead in the middle, it takes away from the vocals and makes everything a little hard to understand

also you should find a better kick sample, it doesn't seems to fit with the song

Well, its all about taste in that matter(Not to sound arrogant) But I have received some comments about the sounds I used(Not from this forum) and members did say they like the sounds that I chose to use. I really like that kick, and that's why I used it. Personally out of all the songs in the world I have come across(I actually liked) there was always one thing I wished I could changed in that song. I don't know how it is for everybody but people have different minds, and style when it comes to music. There will always be a lot of opinions, so I do see where your coming from???

i said 'spread out the lead in the middle' which is exactly what i mean

spread it out

use some chorus, stereo spread, unison or whatever to get it out of the center because it's taking away from the vocals

the kick sounds boomy so if your'e gonna keep it at least make sure it translates well to other systems

Most definitely. I'm going to get to editing today. For some reason I think the vocals are a little loud, its just weird to me. The chorus sounds fine but the pitch shift vocals seems like its taking over the lead synth(In my edited version) Unless it could just be my ears, I mean I have been playing it so much that I really don't know what to do with the mix anymore
