| Gear interested | New Pop Piano Song
Alright, So I'm on to a new song, however I'm having some trouble. I attached the song below, tell me what you think. I havn't begun to mess with any levels yet so ignore that. My main issue is drums. As of right now I don't have any access to good sounding drums outside of UltraBeat in Logic 9. Any suggestions? Also, is there a bad transition between the second verse (if you an call it that) and the part after it? The song's not near completion but I thought I would ask for advice before I get to far into it. Song attached. Thanks, Joe |

This song has potential, I like the vocal.. but the mixing is very thin at the moment. It lacks body/punch, or something like that. But the track is nice, yeah, keep working on it!

since you have the skeleton done, why not throw it around to some real drummers, can't get better than a real drummer.

hey thanks for the comments. yah, obviously mixing is poor as of now, just trying to figure out what direction to go in. I've got a few drummers out here that could maybe help me out (unless someone in the GS community would like to help out!). I'm just looking to add something with a good hook and something that relates my songs together. a certain sound (unless my voice is that distinguishable?). anyways, thanks again for the comments and keep um coming, i really appreciate it. love, joe |

Alright, so I have a kit available to use and I want to ask something. If I recorded drum and bass together and then high hat and crash together would it be any different from recording them at the same time? I understand the bleeding of all the sounds would obviously be different. But if I'm playing them separately using UltraBeat, I figure it wouldn't make a difference with the right editing. Am I completely off? Any other ideas. As of right now I have 2 condensor mics I can use, no drum mics available nor do I have any interest in recording in that style. Any suggestions into how I could record this? |

You could make it work, try it out and see what you get, it might turn out to be exactly what you want. Also, I'm heading over to a fellow drummers house tonight for a session. I'll swing this by him and see if he seems interested. |
