To be honest, they sound like they're trying too hard. They're almost good, but not quite.

Nothing personal.

The bass is really really f'n loud too.

thanks for your opinion.

what kind of music do you listen to? name some bands.... i should have added this in the original post but i'll add it now...

if you critique my songs, please let me know what other bands you listen to. i would find that helpful and more constructive if i know what you like in the first place.

just meaning simply that if two people said they didn't care for the songs and one listened to slipknot, pantera and tool... that opinion would weigh less in my book to the other guy who said he listens to 3 doors down, alice in chains and nickelback. see what i mean? so please throw me a couple bands you DO like if you critique. thanks. no offense will be taken either....

one more thing to keep in mind... this is just rough demo stuff. no lead guitar or even a real guitar player. i play bass and sing.....and just enough guitar to lay basic tracks down to present to bandmates. the drums are not even the right beat.... just drumloops that sounded similar to what i was looking for... so i guess critique the songs potential. thanks. matt.

I liked paint over the first one

it is VERY Layne Staley, which is kick ass if you are Layne Staley. Not trying to insult you but your influences are very apparent.

I know you dont want production tips but that guitar sound is horrid

the third song wanted me to sign up for the website which I declined (I have plenty of spam already)

I sound like a jerk sorry, I'm trying to be constructive, My best advice is to try and break free of your influences. There's only one AIC (unless you count GODSMACK's shameless emulation)

i think it's the vocal harmony that makes it sound like alice and chains. maybe i could just take that out ... the music doesn't sound like chains does it? funny thing is, i never owned a alice in chains record. i just always thought they do a cool thing with those harmonies, and it seemed to fit in that particular song at the time of recording. actually i've have got away from my main influences which are all the big hair 80's bands.... damn i could write those heavy metal songs all day long!
