Your Song - Piano Upbeat - Please Listen and Critique

Hey all.

I am 20 and have collected some gear over the last 5 years and am trying to make a full album.

This song is a work in progress but so far I am pretty happy with it.

You can click here to listen (it may take a min to load): http://www.foundyesterdaymusic.com/Y...20Demo%205.mp3

The chain> MXL V69 > Daking Pres > MOTU Convertors > Mixed w. UAD plugs

My Chain is pretty average (low end) but I want to upgrade my convertors and mics soon.

Thanks for the comments It's missing one last chorus but so far what do you think on the recording quality and/or song composition?

Any feedback would be really great so far... I am going to make adjustments to the mix and would love some advice.

Lovely tune - vocals are excellent, although they perhaps need a tiny bit more attention in the de-essing dept. They are very upfront & have a lovely warm tone to them - they perhaps could even do with dropping down in the mix just a tad. Not keen on the drum sounds, though - the snare is quite boxy sounding - perhaps reduce it in the 400hz area. The hi-hat seems to be quite dominant too - for a gentle tune like this it could come down some. Overall, I really liked it - well done!

Good work.

On first listen, i like the dynamics. Things sit fairly well...

The tambourine is a little too loud at and after 1.43.

Bring the rhythm guitar up a little and de-ess the vocals a tad.

Otherwise good stuff!

i like the song its very commercial i would have to say the drums to me could be a little better blended in the mix, the tambourine could go down a couple of db, and the the vocals are piercing to my ears i would touch up the vocals the desser also but overall i like the song.
