Seems fine, only vocal is too separate from the rest. Touch of reverb and lowering the highs with something sweet would probably be enough process for vocal.

The vocals are a bit too loud (2db), but the rest sounds fine.

vocals too loud, drums to quiet, everything could be a bit more eq'ed to fit in the mix..

good singer though.

Drums are definitely lost. You have enough kick, but the brush snares are drowning. Also at times the guitars and piano are fighting. Need to give the piano it's own space, maybe lessen it's spread and give it a little more center presence. I also agree on pulling back the vocal a touch.

I also think there are some missed opportunities in the production. The guitars accompaniment could be better. They should put their extra improv licks in when the vocalist is not singing, they seem to be doing their thing when he's till singing for the most part. You could try riding the piano up in those holes. At the end of the verse where he sings "thats the way it is" just after that is the perfect spot to ride up the piano. You should do that either with the guitars or pianos in different holes.

cool little tune

vocal is a lot louder than everything else. it sits way out front. I'd turn that down. the drums also seem to get lost during the build up parts.

that's really all i'm noticing.

You've got something very odd going on phase-wise with the dobros. In stereo they're waaay hard-panned and there's something sort of queasiness-inducing about them. In mono they almost vanish. I can't believe I'm the only one hearing it.

guitars in the left are lost, the snare is a little lost, and the piano is lost...basically, everyone who responded noticed the same things...oh yeah, the vox can come down a little

I'm not a country fan, but good song

i think the arrangement is not right to begin with- too many things going on at the same time.

check out madeleine peyroux (if you don't already have), it might point you in a better direction. just remember, if your mix sounds half as good as "careless love", you're already the king.
