| Gear Head | Recording songwriter with 2 certain mics...which´d be the best setup? Hi, I intend to record a friend of singing with his acoustic guitar. I just own a shure sm48 and a T.Bone SCT800condenser mic.I also home made a portable vocal booth using a Whitmor Cube. I know my gear is not high end at all, but I wonder which would be the best way to combine those three to make the best recording possible. Thank you very much in advance! P.D. don´t know if this is relevant, but I have a Focusrite Penta as well. |

| i would record both the guitar and the vocalist with the SCT800 for it has more clarity and resolution. that means you would do the guitar and the vocal after each other which is another advantage because u dont have the guitar on the vocal track etc. if he cant do it seperate, its a matter of the lesser evil which mic u take for what. |
