Smile MIX CRITIQUE PLEASE - Our new rock song

Hi guys!

I'm a young engineer from hungary, and my Band's EP is out now, and I would like to know, what other engineers thinking about the sound.

Please check out this site, and listen to the brand new song "Hilarious Hilary" (320 kbps mp3):

Xfm Uploaded

The Drum was recorded at the Aquarium studio. We use
Akg 112 for kick,
Shure sm57 for the bottom, and a top of the snare,
Sennheiser md421 for the toms,
Neumann km 84 for the overheads, and the hat,
and Neumann u87 for the stereo room.
Every mic was recorded with the SSL 4048 g+ preamps, and the converter was the Digidesign 192.
The Bass was recorded direct with UA Solo 610.
The Guitars was recorded with Peavey 5150+ 1960 marshall cab. I use telefunken ak 47 with Focusrite isa one pre.
I singed the song the same chain (ak47, isa one).

For the mixing and mastering, I only use UAD plugins.
The Song was recorded in 96 khz 24bit, mixed, and mastered in 96 khz 32bit float (in sapmlitude).

I know it's not the best.

Thank you for listening.

Ha! Love this song! Even though quite different than my own tastes, its very good! It is worth analyzing on its own!! However, your request was for a mix critique...

The mix is quite good as well... Its difficult to tell the difference between sibilance from compression and MP3 noise... But one or the other (or both) seems evident. Otherwise, IMHO, it sounds amazing! I must admit to listening through headphones... So cannot comment about actual low end. I've lots of experience with phones, however, and do not hear anything negative in any frequencies except aforementioned sibilance (which, again, could simply be a result of MP3 conversion).

A final comment, which I borrowed, and bears repeating: "If it sounds good, it IS good!!"

I also enjoyed the other two tracks posted!

Cheers!

The song is definitely interesting to say the least, the one problem I find in it is the guitars tones....I can hear the 5150 in it right off the bat, definitely not a head I would turn to in a recording situation...next time rent or borrow a rectifier and you'll pull off a Mr. Bungle type sound here...thumbs up on the creativity though.

Thanks lfranz! I Think too the guitar tones is not the best, but that was our only chance...
Thank you for your opinion.
