Need some inputs

Hi

This is my first post here I think.
I've been visiting this board daily since day one.
Great resource and many talented people live in here.

I wonder what you guys think of this song I working on.
I need some fresh ears to listen to it.

Thanks!
Svein

I like a lot! The drum sound is good, like how you mixed the cymbals - sits good in the mix. I would like to hear the snare a little more and maybe compress the bass just a tiny bit more, hard to tell.

I think the male and female lead needs some attention. Maybe cut some mids from the male voc? - not a big issue, but...

Great song / mix.

Thanks for your comments dim light!

Do you mean compress the bass guitar more or the low end in the mastering?
It is a bit of bassheavy.

good

The recording sounds good overall. The only thing that I didn't like was the bass guitar, it sound too “boomy”. My guess is to bring down around 31 Hz and 62 Hz and maybe even a little at 125 Hz. Overall it's great mix and cool song to.

I actually like the bass. The arrangement is quite good IMO and I hear every note articulated. It reminds me a bit of the U2 sound. The only criticism I have is the vocal. Just a tad more production to lock it into place. All in all, I think it sounds pretty darn good!

bcgood edit

Here's your recording with my editing/tweeking using the suggestions I gave. I compared the two versions and I thought that my changes made it sound better, see or actually hear what you think.

Interesting bcgood. I do think (strictly my opinion) there are some improvements, however, I still llike the original bass. I love the way you backed up your thoughts with real illustration! thumbsup

I agree bcgood. The bass are too boomy.
I just installed some corner traps in my studio and my room is better now.
Nice edit job you did!
What do you guys think of the guitars?
Too many? Is the mix crowded?

Thanks for all replys!
