Ok guys, im brand new to mixing as well as this forum, so go easy.

I mixed this on headphones (still saving up for a set of HS80s) in sonar. I also did this pretty quickly, so no automation.

Nonetheless, please give it a listen! Any feedback you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
-Nick

Hello Nick!
Thanks for sharing your mix!
I guess the piano is a little bit loud and there's too much reverb on the drums.
Besides that, you've done a good job.

No, no mics.
It was directly into the soundcard and the other instruments are VST's.

Heres my mix. Still need to add more automation and add some more 'Sparkle' to it. Shame I'm mixing on headphones as well lol

Superspuds, did you use a VST for the drums, right? It's way better than mine, but I think there's too much reverb. Besides this, the other stuff is working greatly!

Gearmaniac, interesting way you took. You made it simple, no acoustics, no piano. I liked your idea, but the drums need some work.

Undefined, the snare is sound very good.
Nice mix.

huh?

what do you mean, no piano, no acoustics? are you sure you're listening to the right track.

I'm sorry I'm not trying to seem dumb but I can swear I put the acoustics and piano in the track.

I just downloaded it and it seems like you didn't listen to the right track.

peace

My try

Hi everybody, i'm usually a reader on this forum (that's my first post here!) But i'd like to try a mix to have critics on the sound and technics used. That's not my genre, but i like to mix anything, so that's my try

http://www.mediafire.com/file/wgynjy...KE_DNA_Mix.mp3

Sorry for bad english

And here's my quickie, no midi or mastering stuff, just limited some tops out for the sake of the MP3, and a few errors I didn't care to fix.

Sk16, excellent job!
I really dig your drums sound. Good ideas on the clean and acoustic guitars.

Echo, I think there's too much reverb on the drums.

ight. Quick Mix no time to really automate or get deep into it. Spent an hour an 45. That's long enuff.

Also as a hip hop dude it was real hard keeping the drums lower and back in the mix. O well!

Interesting, a non-metal guy mixing this song, in despite of being a ballad.
You did a good job LIpps!!
I just think the snare is a bit loud, but that's your style
