![]() I like that dirty bass there e, it looked like it was limited like madAs for timing I knew something was not quite in sync, your first version of the tracks were all well synced, I dunno what happened here, I'll recheck to see if its on my side. It does sound more organic natural, I like it better, midi gets boring. did you play the toms separately from the rest of the kit on this version ? by the way , check your guitar cable, or pickups, or connection or jacks, knobs, switches, something's clicking and crackling on the guitars. guitar 3 and 4 were super muddy, but it was a good challenge and good practice to mix the song. Thanks for making this available, maybe sometime in the near future you will have vocals on it? and maybe some production ideas so we can practice making stuff sound the way we are getting asked to , which usually is the case a lot of the times. Thread Starter | Interesting, BGK! Even this not being your genre, it sounded good. What I could noticed it that your made the snare sound like hiphop. Thanks for your time! |

Thread Starter | Yeah, Revolt. There are some missing parts, but I liked your tons sound! The reverb on the drums is also good. |

| Oh, what the heck... I found this mix challenge reposted on another site and eventually tracked it down to its source... here! Thought I'd give it the one evening mix treatment and stop before getting all obsessive and automating the heck out of things (like I usually do.) ...and yes, I left the solo out on purpose <g> -djh |

Thread Starter | I'm really enjoying what you have coming up! Good ideas and mixes. I hope until the end of this month present you the final version mixed&mastered by a pro you might know! By the way Dhodgson, what is the other site you found this thread? |

It's cool to hear what can be done with the same ball of clay rather than busting out replacement layers & getting all producer-y with it. The track reminds me of Thrice's "Identity Crisis" album a bit ... ![]() Thanks for the practice, skidwasted. Once the secret mixer's done with your track, be sure to make sure that he/she spills all the beans! <g> -djh | |

| What's up everyone!!! I'm new and been looking for something to practice my mixing for rock/hardcore/punk etc.... I played around with this track for awhile trying to see what kind of sound would fit this really good. I went with clean mix. I liked everyone's mixes for the most part. Some just needed more mixing for the drums when the guitars sounded really good. But still I enjoyed the different versions everyone came up with. So, here's my mix hope you enjoy it! |

| <crickets> Nobody's commenting so I'll chime in. Your mix sounds fine DHK, but the guitars are pumping in a rather odd fashion. Somewhere, a compressor is looking for its release... -djh |

| Gear addict | Any feedback on my attempt a page back? (the old version). I don't expect it to win any awards, quite the opposite I'm very curious if anything stands out as 'way off' mainly. Due to my poor room atm - it sounded 'ok' to me, but would be good to know if it sounded like shit or something to everyone else ![]() thanks |

| The Flucking Chosen One - O.N.E mix I had myself an itchy mixer finger about 2 days ago having had just finished a project... so i searched the web and found this page and though it would be good practice between projects ...I could have done more but time isn't really a luxury of mine and its hard to take a solid direction when there is no vocals present (or income ![]() |

| Not a huge fan of compressing the ENTIRE mix. I like to let it breathe a bit more. Mixed this in akg k271 mkII's. Someone with some nearfields - please comment on my mix. I'll be buying some monitors soon, but for now i have only headphones. Let me know if what i got on here is translating at all? Ps. The ride was the truly nasty sample. PPS. the second solo... ![]() |
