Feedback on some pop punk?

The main singer has a strange quality to his voice that makes it sound very radio like. I've recorded them twice and haven't really been able to find a mic that won't work with it. I used an RE20 this time but I've still had to make some eq cuts to try and get rid of it.

Any advice for the verse parts to blend the vox in more? They're sing really fast, stop and go, so I don't think a delay would work without popping out too much.

I think a delay of eigth note or shorter with some spread would actually do what you are looking for, help them sit back just a bit. The low end sounds like you might have some monitoring issues. The bass needs to come up. Nice punk vibe, will be good in the end.

No surprise of course with the low end problems. Bedroom mixer here.

Bass as in bass guitar, or the entire low end on the mix?

Quite good. But I think that the guitars, in the beginning could be more tight.

I'm not the performer.

I'm not really hearing the bass guitar. The bedroom mixing environment will have huge low end and upper bass peaks causing you to EQ too much of it out of the tracks and mix, and to under mix the bass and kick. Obviously room treatment is the best cure, and EQing your monitors is a good band-aid until you can get the room right.

Agreed, bass needs to come up a bit. IMHO vocals would benefit from some automated delay, let it ring on the end of the phrases and it sound a bit more "produced"...

Nice job btw.
