Advice needed on my mix/master of a punk rock band...

I recorded this band recently and I would like some feedback from my fellow gearslutz. The only gear I used to recorded outboard wise is an LA-610 and Avalon U5 into a Presonus Firestudio Project. Most other alterations eq, comp, reverb were made in the box. Any comments will be taken to heart, but be gentle its my first post!

Hmm...

Acoustic guitar in the beginning needs to be brighter. Snare needs a little more punch. Guitars could've stood a little less gain, and more clarity. Did you scoop out the lower mids on the bass?

Pretty good balance though, I can dig it. Cheers!

I feel like the snare gets a little lost when the guitars kick in before the double time punk part

Since it's mostly consistent playing, you could easily back it up with a sample

But sounds good!!!

What distortion is on the bass?

This is punk rock nowadays?

Good balance overall. I'd like some more balls from the guitars, I don't really mind the high gain settings. Lots of cymbals in the drums and not much girth there either. Good vocal level.

I'd say nearly there, just needs some more power in the low mids.

haha yea this is a very specific genre of punk (its more "crust" punk with metal/hardcore influences). the distortion on the bass is a fulltone bass drive, which is an amazing distortion. I used a sansamp bass pedal for a while but came to hate its drive feature, but it did give some solid low end to a mix.

again thanks for your comments dudes I am taking them to heart (and will probably be upping the low and low mids a bit as I do enjoying cutting them maybe a little too much!)
