Critique these songs

I need feedback on the song called "My Shine". I was attempting to get that Andy Wallace sound, I would like to have critique. The link is below.

Hey man...

Not sure what wallace's hip hop mixes sound like....but his rock mixes are pretty slammin. which means expensive compression...lots of it....a very expensive signal path(ssl, neve), and then "his" particular way of gelling everything together(quiet cymbals, massive low end, aggresive smooth mids)...
basically...to me....his mixes end up sounding very aggresive...but pleasing to the ear(non-fatiguing after hours of listening).

but as far as the mix you have for shine.... i think it's sounds pretty damn good....the guitars sound a little low in the mix to me....and the snare could be better...

Just my two bits....sounds great dude

Thanks, for checking it out. I was trying to get the edge that he is known for with his mixes. My objective was to get agressive rock sound out of a hiphop song like mixing System of a Down with Mobb Deep.

No prob man...it's kinda crappy when you earnestly put something up...then everyone just ignores it...ya know. Therefore, i'm going to make it a point to give feedback to those guys/gals that have had their mix up for a week and no one pays attention...we're all in this together...ya know...everyone wants feedback on their stuff...that's the whole point right? Jules has some good info...seems to be a helpful, honest type of guy.

Personally...one of the best mixes "i've" ever heard...is tom petty's "wildflowers"...
which to me...displays a 'perfect' balance between compression, natural dynamics and freq representation...

But we can't all have old 1176 comps, neve eq's and tele 251's now......can we.

Hey man, heard all three songs, and all are good!

But offcourse, "shine" is more up my alley, and it has that dark vibe to it, that i really like and can make or break a song, the bass sounds good, the beat is good as well, and the guitars scream but not out of control, you know... pretty damn good man, i am surprised people here did not reply to this song before, i just discovered it, and felt the need to give an opinion on this as soon as i could...

good job!

Good stuff. I really liked "Easy". The lead vocal treatment sounds very unique (to me). Is there more with that woman singing? I wouldn't mind buying a copy.

california - nice, but the snare could be more RnB, punchier..

easy and shine - generally too soft, especially when you tell you want it more to "rock"..
easy is a great song!

you might try macy gray "do something" and other of her stuff as a reference..
(need not be so merciless and loud)

I think, a brave mastering job can do a LOT here..
there is a crowded 8khz range, that I would deconstruct and search for more detail in the particular instruments.

thanks, 8k is to crowed. That was a cool observation I will work on adjusting that. Yeah, I agree that need a good mastering job. I am looking for a good mastering person. I am planning to release those songs you mentioned above on an album, once the mixing is to my liking and it is mastered.

Your opinion and critiques are greatly appreciated.
