Talking Transition Mixoff

http://www.filedropper.com/upintheair

This is one of our tracks from the last cd. I took off all of the effects I had on it. Hopefully it's workable.

I'll give it a try.

I actually really like that song. Reminds me a bit of linking Park and a great Up and Comming Group i Know from Montreal.. October Sky. Kind of a blend between the two.

I hear what you're saying. To be honest, I track alot better now and this song was an older one.. so I can't say that I know for sure how I did it. I don't think I was dumb enough to put all of the drums on a single track. I think that there is something like 20-35 tracks in all so I doubt I kept it super minimal with drums.

I know that some of you mixers like to make rules and stuff so I think that maybe there should be a few.

I'll start by saying:

-no adding tracks
-feel free to use whatever effects add to it.. you can be creative too
-export at 192 for the finished mp3
-obviously don't post the whole song if you are scared it will be stolen

p.s. this cd was already released and i won't steal anything

It worked fine for me.

Dave do you mind giving us the BPM. I usually find it by my self at the begining of the mix.. but this time i totally forgot. I have made a few automations already and i'm afraid it's just gonna complicate things if i start playing around with the timming. ( that and i feel lazy today lol )

Thanks

Alxi - Up In the Air Limiter - SoundCloud

Here's my take on it. The vox are fairly dry and the drum is a lot more present. The Vox could use some more automations but considering it's not gonna be release, i figured it wasn't too bad

I've put a limiter on it.

Comments are more then welcome

Is white christian rap a recognized genre now, or is this a new thing? Does it have a name?

Thanks for sharing your tracks.

Mix Updated. Vox were a bit to loud and not compressed enough

Sounds pretty rad Alxi!! I'll make sure to pass this along to the MC. I'm curious why some of the vocal tracks sound a tad shifted? I know that his timing didn't come off of the beat on the record... whatever the case, I really like it!

Thanks Dave ! I was hopping you'd like that.

A lot of the Back Vox were pretty off in timming on the tracks you gave me. I think that just by alinging them to the Lead Vox it cleared the Vox group and made timming more noticable... but i will check it out tomorrow... i will compare it with the track on your myspace page and make the corrections if needed. Also a Pop Filter would be a good investment if you guys track everything your selves... There's a lot of plosive P's in there and they're hard to control. Just thaught i'd let you know

We have a pop filter sadly.
It's just a matter of being far enough away and investing in a better mic this time.

Hi DAve.

Turns out you were right. I must've move the files by mistake while doing an edit or something. My bad ! I guess the back Vox weren't that off then.

Here's the new link but it's basicly the same mix.
