Pharaoh Sanders meets ATCQ meets Lee Scratch meets Basic Channel

As the title suggests, here's a track somewhere at the crossroads between all of these artists. Done on a mpc, rough mix ITB w/ Vermona Retroverb and RE-201, featuring a contrabass clarinet. Arrangement needs some work still.
Some advice on how to mix the contrabass clarinet?
Or just some feedback, plz?

Nice tone on the tenor.

I think the drum pattern is too ridged for the style you are going for, the intro is a little on the long side, I know you are going for an atmospheric type of thing, but as an unknown artist I think it's alot to expect people to listen to so much before it really get's into it.

But the biggest thing for me is the drums. . .it sounds like you are competant as a musician turn quantize off and let us feel YOU a little more. Also maybe the shaker is a little too sharp? Maybe if they were a bit grittier sounding it would help. . .

I'm really diggin the backwards stuff especially how it's chopped up at the end, more of that!

Nice track

Thanks for giving it a listen, RyanC.
Your comments are most welcome. I'll definitely tweak the drums a little more although I like that mimimalistic vibe.

Regarding the intro, it's got ME tripping. The track is not meant to be radiophonic or whatever. It'll breathe in the middle of the album somewhere. But you're right, people won't take time to listen anymore.
