The Headroom, Studio City "loud and clear"

Hi just got to this dot com I must say I really like the people and feedback I read about here. For so long it seemed like you were only allowed in the club if you recorded on protools exclusively. I started recording bands live directly to my MTR 112 1/2" with for track heads because I had a bunch of 1/2 inch when I bought the machine. I would record the whole band on two tracks then do background vocals on the other two . I did this with every kind of music from the "Young Dubliners" to Straight Jacket and SX10 , one room with PA lots of dynamic mics . I have been the lead assistant engineer at Conway Studios, and Devonshire Studios at the peak of their existance and made records with every legendary producer.

I have learned more about everything in my tiny shit hole with that four track and a pile of dynamic mics in two years than all the previous 12 . I have made much less money but it has been infinately rewarding . I look forward to sharing some of the day by day happenings at the headroom as we continue to push the limits of the upsurd...

Sounds nice and spatial.....

How 'bout a breakdown of the engineering? - I'm always a sucker for dynamic mic triumph stories.....

;-)

Nice tune dude! I like the intro on drums much. I like the vocal too. Too loud though. But great popy feeling you got out with that - I think.
You recorded that with all dynamic mics you say? And on 1/2 you say?
That's great!

I don't like the guitar room all the time ( iz jumps out of feeling at time to time).
Everything is quite dry too.. but I guess it doesn't mind.. (I'm listenning on computer speakers so that could be the issue)

Overall cool stuff.
I like it

Cheers!
