Thread Starter | New Mix of a Foo Fighter*ish* song
Here is a newer mix I did of a band locally. There are some issues already that I know of but time didn't allow them to be fixed and the tracking was done by some other people and some was less than ideal while some of it was great. Of course there are many more problems that were entirely my fault and that is where I would like your opinions to help me out ![]() Please post some ideas for me to work on. SO here are some questions I will answer before they are asked 1) yes the snare is replaced 2) Yes it is way compressed (necessary evil right?) 3) This song was really long and I did a quik cutup of it for ya so you may notice some wierd changes now and then. 4) yes some of the tom hits are really quiet, and that is a long story ![]() But anyway, thanks for the listen. I look forward to some of your thoughts. |

nice job.... i think it sounds really good...would love to hear a bit more room on the drums...really like the snare though...works for this stuff....some weirdness in the high end of the guitars and cymbals..but that could just be the mp3.. what is your chain for recording ?? cheers, j

hey dude.... good mix overall. the guitars sound eq'd a little funny.... not much meat there.... and i think there is some kinda boost around 2k or something whatever conversations led to the toms sounding bad needs to be had again... and this time the other side needs to get their way.... so the toms can sound like toms in a rock song. i like the bass thing at 3:07... if it were me i would back off of the low end thing at 3:14. to me it sounds to obvious.... like... oh yea they tossed in some low end thing there.... its a good idea.... its just to distracting from what else is going on right there. i think it should be a perceived... slightly noticeable thing... like maybe the drummer really just smacked the shit out of the kik right there cuz he was so into the song.... now it sound kinda artificial.... but like i said, i like the idea! The only comment I have is that when the song starts, it doesn't "pop." The intro should be turned down to make the start of the song really stand out.
