I played everything on this. It was really for experimental purposes with some new gear I got. Please disregard my less than stellar guitar and vocal skills. I wish I had a half stack around too. The guitars were a peavey classic combo; not ideal for the overdrive sound I was looking for. Brandon

What is your new gear, and what did you use it on? Have you been cutting drums in the room with the high ceiling? Andrew | |

Andrew, hey man, I was messing around with just using a 57 on guitar. The drums were cut mostly with a new API 3124+ in a room with 20' ceilings. I had never recorded there before, so it was an eye opening experience. Definitely what I had been missing with my less than stellar finished basement. It pays to buy that 50' snake and send it up the stairs. Brandon |

The sound is very nice...how do you get that sheen on the guits? Mine always sounds much rougher - as in garage rock vs. power pop/emo/etc.

The API is great. I sold a couple other pres to get it, but it was definitely worth it. I've been sending everything through and haven't been disappointed. Part of me feels better too because I know I can no longer blame anything on the preamp. Brandon |
