mix critique? first post in this forum

I've never posted mixes in this forum before, so go easy on me.

The bands I record are always happy with the product, but it would be nice to get some feedback from fellow slutz.

Here's the track:

-I wish I had a real Steinway D and an orchestra for this track.

The music was nice in the beginning, but when the vocal came in I was dissapointed. The music sounds much better than the voice. Nice balance between the piano and strings.

What is the vocal chain? The music was warm and had feeling; the first impression of the voice was like it was recorded in three minutes because the band ran out of money. I don't think the voice is bad, but there was little presence or dynamics there.

Definately has potential. I'd like to hear this with retracked vocals.

I really like the song and general production, far better than anything I could ever do. However, I think it would be worth giving the singer some whisky and having her sing it again! :-)
