Thread Starter | Drum session using two AEA R84's Inspired by e-cue's thread on ribbon overheads. Here's a drum session I tracked using two R84's as overhead. I always wanted to know how ribbons sounded like on overheads so.... here it is. snare: TLM103 Kick and Toms: 421MD's Room: U99 Jason

| winamp plays it for me without problemos However I don't like the cymbals (and hat esp) as at E_CUEs example, these are somehow "dry" with too much top. Well and we have 128kbps stereo file here, so I expect wav is only brighter. Funny, snare is nice ;-) |

| Lives for gear | Sounds good to me It is a little dry for the track..but that's not the issue...and I"m glad it wasen't drenched with verb....allows us to hear the mic's more.

| Nice work. I use the R84s all the time as OHs. My new favorite is something I've finally managed to do.... LCR set-up using the R84s in Blumlein and a Coles 4038 in the center of the kit at about snare level in front of the kit. |

| Quicktime opens m4as on XP. Jason, could you explain where you had the 84s placed as OHs? |
