I like it. It goes from Oasis to Chilli Peppers at 2:28 and back at 3:01. That's cool. I love the snare. Sounds so real. Great room sound. This is a cool band. |

sounds great kieran. great bad! nice song. great voice. many props, but one big no no for me. Was the weird drumming and fast bass, and all that really necesary ? I'm very conservative, I follow a rule which is "experiment all you want with melodies and chord progression, but leave the timing simple" Or leave that to "Rush". Timing and beat can really screw up a great song, and even though this was very well played , it took alot of points from the great melody. Remember melody is #1 in the list, whatever interferes with it, will take away from the song. I'm telling you this because you said you co-produced. Think about it for a sec? Imagine it with simple drums, you have a #1 hit right there. After listening to the song again. I clicked out of my pop oriented mind, and realized you guys are not trying to be on the radio. If that was the case, you did a great job. If pop was the intention in a way, there is some serious song structure issues to address...Let me know, what the plans for this band are, so I can make a better post. I'm confused

Jose.... Thanks for your input. As with anybody I would love to get a song on the Radio. The intention though was to be creative with each of the parts, of course keeping the melody Front and center. Does the drum and Bass part sound bad to you ? or is it just a thing that makes the song more "difficult" ? |

Let me put it this way, IT IS GREAT. Awesome performance, awesome sound... give me a sec, I'll listen again.... ok look. This is my feeling towards what I think happened : the songwriter wrote this on a piano alone.. found a few cool chords, and don't know if he or the singer or whatever, placed the awesome melody on top of it... and then came mr. drummer with a "i want to be the star" attitude, and played the beat. And because he is a good drummer everyone thought it was cool. And then came mr. bass player and said, well if mr. drummer is cool, then look.. I can play really fast to. And then came the bridge, and mr. drummer said.. man, I can do this very cool thing, and everyone said.. yeah.. we are great musicians let's experiment. In the mean while, the core of the song went flying out of the window. Now, for fun reasons.. take the bridge out, cut the piano intro in half, remove the drums, remove the bass.. and listen to the awesome song you have in your hands. By the way, the production in the bridge is genious.. It's amazing, but has nothing to do there. That's it man. The whole song has genious parts put in the wrong places, let the melody breath. | |

ummm I re-read my post, just want to emphasize something, that this is the opinion of a guy who didn't earn a dime from music. So please, you may have a great song as it is.. please don't let my radical thoughts make you rethink something that may or may not be just perfect. There are other people in GS with years more of experience that may give you a better opinion. just wanted to make that clear |

Hello there! Am listening to the song and I tend to agree with some of the criticysm! The song reminds me quite a bit of the band 'Turin Brakes'. At first I was lke - I don't mind the drums - but after a while they started making me feel a bit nervous/ uncomfortable. The combination wierd rythm beautiful melodies and athmosphere can sometimes work (The Sundays - Sin& Bones) though...
