dude....

do you think you could get that a little louder?

there is very little definition in this mix....
what I hear is three instruments crashing together.
Try utilizing the stereo field and develop sonic envelopes and find the "sweet spot" for each of the instruments...

with distortion man.....sometimes...less is more...ya know?
Back off of the gain on the guit...
drums and bass are drowned by the guit man..it's hard to comment on them...

ciao,
Joe

props to you for posting a reply... and i will definately check out what you commented on.....

im not sure what you meant by... "develop sonic envelopes"
feel free to expand upon this if you want....

but like i said... its not slutty at all....... probably better suited for home studio dot com or something of that nature... i will refrain from posting these tunes from here out unless they get really slutty gearwise seeing as this is gearslutz... bur thanks for commenting upon this meager post

Hey man...I use crap gear too.....well crap compared to all the Neves and Nuemans that these fellas are used to...all home rec stuff...pro sumer...ya know?

But, what I do have is ears...

when I say you need to find sonic envelopes..I mean finding a space for each of the instruments in the mix...not having them bang together...

what do you use for monitors man?

Joe

well..I think the best monitors are what you can get used too...the ones that will let YOUR ears hear the nuances of the mix...

I reall think the best place to start is your signal chain..
the cleaner the better man...monitors second..ya know?
