| Gear maniac | Thanks for the remarks! I should have automated an EQ for the percussion your right.. maybe back out some 1k with a wide band while the vocals are running. Mostly I used Waves' SSL bundle, UAD's Neve bundle, randomly their LA-3 on his vocal, and ML4000 from McDSP. The issue with the reverse sound is that, if you listen carefuly, the intro vocal is very off.. he jumps the gun.. and casually gets back on tempo.. so instead of elastic audio editing it.. i decided i'll swoop into the mix creating something that draws.. and doing that made it seem like the singer was more on beat i guess. haha. I agree. It is VERY loud. I liked the mix a lot better before I added the loudness, it flew around the scape a little more.. more width.. But, people outside seem to love the loud. Thanks again. |

| the hook sound in the chorus, is the only thing that makes a change in this song. Its a cool hook, but its too bad its hard to make out what its playing, sounds like theres some highpass eq on it. U should fatten that one up alot! abit like good life with kanye. i dunno but that would make it something to remember. And ppl need that! after a while i felt abit bored with the song, maybe make something unexpected in w/e, like a cool break or alter the harmony. So it gets some attention. this is only small stuff, this would probably work on the radio. but spicing it up is always a step into making it more commercial Edit: why not drop the kick and the bass in the chorus, and louden up the hook! mb just a kick at the start of every 1st beat? |

| I am sure that if u take the HP filter from the lead synthesizer sound in the hook or put the X frequency down to 500 hz the sound could be a bit to much it could work if you treat the sound right but it could mess up this cool mix too its like ying and yang |

| Gear maniac | I like the low mid on the synth.. I wanted it to be powerful and basicly overtake (instrumentally) that part of the song. I understand the backgrounds to be a lil' bright. I figured it was kinda obvious what they were singing. 'so alone' it's the title haha.. I did a break down in the drums during the 'bridge'.. i had a phased dly come in with the snare so it was i believe 16ths.. or 8ths.. all worrbly.. it made it so it wasn't the same taste throughout.. i sent them the song with my idea of what the bridge should be like.. and they said to take it out.. and i had a more phasey effect on the intro vocals.. and they said to take that out too.. So, I KNOW what you mean about it seeming the same throughout the song.. however, i attempted to make it not so.. they wanted it. They said it the thing caught them off gaurd.. thats the only problem they had with it.. i couldn't convince them to keep it.. so any pointers with that? haha.. |
