Need advice about rap vocal takes (pro engineers welcome)

I recently started a thread about DIYing a vocal booth:

DIY-ing the world cheapest vocal booth/reflection filter

I ended with a SE RF + 8 "absorption panels" ( some wood frames with hanging duvets).

I thought having a small closed space would give a better vocal take, but I've been reading this thread ("blankets all over" --->"will give you a horrible boxy sound"):

Recording rap vocals in small closet, Pro engineers only!!!

So I tried to use my pannels in order to create kind of "room treatment" behind the rapper and making sure the mic was pointed away from my desk (computer, mixer alim, etc) all that with the SE RF of course.

Here's two vocal samples:

One is a "DIYed booth" sample (blankets all over + SE RF), the other one was recorded with the "treated room" configuration.

As an engineer what sample would you like to receive if I was your client for a mix?

(also give you a rush mix of the beat if you want to drop that into you daw)

Files in this thread:

DIY treatment + SE RF, better configuration? (pro engineers welcome)

Look, I bump my thread in here cause I really need advice on this one, I really have no clue whitch one is better for the engineer and I dont know who's gone a mix the project (and dont want to start looking for someone before my job is finished, you know, asking for advice and ending working with someone else or things like that). If you think both sound like crap jus tell me. Please give a hand.

i guess it boils down to a question of taste... small sounds like small, damped like damped, live like live...

you can mix and match to taste depending on what you´re recording... use you imagination...

when i am tracking lead rap voice... i normally prefer dead spaces, but it depends on the voice and intent...

Ok thanks for the advice taturana, I want get a clear and kinda "in your face" lead but i will not mix it myself, I dont trust my room and monitors enought for that (and I'm not experienced enought to pretend mixing this project).

The "treated room" configuration give better confort for the rapper so I think I'll try to improve my room treatment and work like that.
