hide and seek [imogen heap] cover video - red type b r6 capsule

yes i used Waves Tune for this... it's a simple piano and voice cover but i wanted to show off my new Red Mic Type B with R6 Capsule, which i love.
processing was all itb using Waves plugins including API.
preamplifier was a great river nv.
sampled piano is Synthogy Ivory.
since some of you would prefer better-than youtube quality:

just to stream the 320kbps mp3:

to watch the video in HD on my dotmac gallery:

Wow, that sounds quite good. The vocal sound you're getting is excellent. Nice performance, too.

Though I must say with the stand, mic, pop screen and whatever else you've got going on there it looks like you're singing into the head of a small, crazy robot.

thanks!
i am in love with this mic and pre combo.
and i am becoming a convert to Waves Tune over AT -- although i usually don't use either, i will employ it for a song like this..

that robot part is too funny - i noticed that too

cheers

I've got the type B with a B6 (same thing) and the GR. I think we both have a winning combo here.

yep i am thrilled with that setup and i think the only way to really get a better vocal sound would involve around $3000+ for a Bock 151. i want one, but i doubt there is a better buy out there [for my voice at least] than the Red System.

cheers man!

If I make a few dollars off of my project it'll be either an R7, a Pearlman or a Wunder depending on the income. I've spent all I'm going to before I get to work on it. I do want some better converters, but new speakers and converters I can justify by using them in my stereo setup as well. It's hard to justify a $6000 mic to do only my vocals on maybe 10 songs a year. That' why I was really interested when War recommended the Red. I'd never heard of them before. I'm impressed. I may just get an R7 and a Type A. That may make a little difference but I'm with you, the B is a WAY above average setup for a home studio like mine.

i personally record a song every day so i could justify $6000 if only i could _afford it_

i am of the school of thought that the Red B with R6 / R7 and even R8 is worth twice what they are asking for it. haven't used the Type A. if i do upgrade my vocal mic, then next mic will have to be a serious investment to improve upon the sounds i can get now with the modular capsules (imho).

i am blessed and thankful -- my 'studio' is just my bedroom, so this setup is more than adequate for my true needs. when i get a record deal i will invest in better stuff

and War is an awesome guy who helped me a lot in my purchase.

I just got home and listened to it. It sounds very very good. I have a link posted where I am using it as a room mic. I don't have anything with lyrics yet.
