Is this track too compressed?

I don't know if I have a tendacy to over compress or I scoop my mix too much with EQ.

Could somebody take a listen to this pre-mastered track I did for a client and tell em if it sounds really compressed or what other problems you hear?

thx

I agree. I mix on some dynaudios and I wonder if I haven't got used to them yet. Still have my old NS-10s but haven't used them since I got the Dyns.

someone's a pretty decent piano player.. what organ you using?

doesn't sound very compressed really compared to what I'm used to hearing... scary.. hard to hear what it will sound like if you throw vocals over top of it or a strong lead line, but I don't think it sounds too compressed...

cheers

Thanks for the compliment. I am playing everything except for the drums. Piano is the Ivory Sampled Library and the organ is the stock B3 thing that comes with Logic pro 8

This is one of those mail order song projects where you have to play it safe until the vocal gets on it and then go back and add or take away.

Sounds fine to me 2. Only i should EQ the kick and bass abit out eachother. The kick sounds to dry for me. For the rest nothing to say about it. I played it a serveral time sum solo's with it with my gibson/mesa combo and its great to play whit it.
