I thought it would be interesting for'slutz to post links to music they have written and performed themselves or as part of a band. Detail if you recorded the music as well.
The track i link to was recorded in a small home studio and co-produced by myself and Kevin Banks ( guitarist for www.herence.co.uk - a hardcore/emo rock outfit, and www.garygo.com - a indie turin brakes/john mayer thing).
Download the track from www.purevolume.com/evensong - it's rocky.
I look forward to hearing some weird and wonderful music!
Cheers,
Neil.

I wrote 'em, played rhythm guitar, and did all of the singing.
The songs were recorded on a PT TDM rig. The front end was a selection of API, AMEK, Focusrite, and Pure pre's. Mastering was done at Airshow.
Although you couldn't tell from the MP3's
I have this e.p. in abundance if anyone likes it enough to want to own it. It's a 5 song recording...four of the songs should be available at that link.

Here's mine: http://www.theverymost.com/
The MP3 links are near the bottom. Hope you enjoy. Also, please don't judge the demo tracks too harshly. They were not really intended for a record. Feel free to judge the non-demo tracks as harshly as you'd like .

Letter of Resignation. Short tune, written, played, recorded, everything by me in my college dorm room one night. (Can't be anywhere without the studio) Pedalboy - Letter of Resignation. |

ive put 50 of my songs up here >>>> soundclick.com/bmanning
most folks find at least a couple they like.
many used my diy mic pre made out of 10 bucks of parts like "the working mans song" and many others.
i write songs using a junkyard studio approach. salvaged thrown away gear, diy, old guitar amps.
people seem to like "the wrecker" (used a mackie) ,
hi tech man(used diy - was in top ten in blues section a lot a year ago), "pretty girls and fancy cars". by comparison "take my love"
done in a big studio has not had as many plays.
for comedy try the siamese cat song (listen to last line) or limeyrap.
out of writing all these songs ive come to the conclusion that the song is more important than fancy equipment.
if you have the time headbangers like "H lady"(parental discretion advised.) big guitar sounds in it took 400 hours to do.
peace.

Here's my stuff...a whole record's worth. You can either let it stream or go to the MUSIC page for individual downloads. I played everything but the drums. Enjoy! The Dammitheads

Yeah, Jam, I miked up one of crappier Yamaha acoustics with a RODE NT1 probably about a foot away, pointing towards the 12th fret. And for some unknown reason, the combination of this particular not-so-good guitar and this not-so-good microphone sounds pretty dang good, I think.

Cool. I think I'm Micing to close for that kind of sound I'll try adding distance.

Recorded in a terrible room, with a Rode NTA1, and free vst's/plug-ins.

Music I recorded in my home/project studio (see links below). I wrote, produced, played keys, bass and programmed drum tracks on all songs ... two songs I mixed in my studio, and two songs were mixed at a friends studio (in his dining room).
My studio has been completely upgraded since these tracks were done.

All done in my home studio. Mainly I use Superior drummer, Trilian for Bass, Omnisphere and myself on electric guitar.

Here is one off an album we recently finished. Kind of bluesy rock. Done all in our basement studio, and tracked drums in the garage. Feel free to comment good or bad. Hopefully someone enjoys it.

A serious piece of music.
Almost turned it off right away....now I'm listening again. |

That's a spot on review! I've been playing for quite some time but just now rolling my sleeves up with recording. while I'm excited about how this track is turning out, I'm not exactly happy with the drums. Any advice on mic placement techniques?

4 songs in there, recorded in my bedroom as mostly as a test of my new sE X1R (we'd recently moved house as well so i was acclimatizing to the room too, it didn't do too badly consider the room is untreated and sounds like arse, you can hear it's a crap room, but it's not as bad as i expected it would be.
