recipe for a rock or semi country type song?

Im not a pro,

What I want is the fast basics for composing songs at home on a PC rather then with a friend or a band.
I have a sony drum loop CD, (country rock and also rock) a Kurzweil with organ patch a condenser mic and acoustic and electric guitar and I know at least 3 chords on each!

I can sing (physically) but I am not a vocalist or have a clue what im doing.

I can mix it all up so it sounds like a song, im really improvising as this is for leaning only.

Do I toss down a nice drum beat? Loop it and switch it up every so often?
Then lay down basic acoustic strumming patterns?

I want to make it an actual song!

Should I hire a guy to assist or college class?
Perhaps a book out there or instructional program or DVD?

... haha there is no FAST way, or a jump start in music production, alot comes into play.. but i would suggest you try 're creating' a song for starters, replicate the same instruments as a song you like, and see how it goes.

but if you dont like that route, you can just throw down a drum loop for the verse, pre, chorus, all diferent of course, and make a song progression on piano, guitar, or whatever and then build it..
