Acoustic blues classic: "Lucky Ol' Sun"

This came off a cassette recorded in 1992 in a "real" studio (Cotton Hill, Albany, New York) and the thing I kept thinking of is that these guys had some kind of HIGH DOLLAR VOCAL MIC that was the centerpiece of everything they did.

I mean, this was the era when any small scale studio operating "for real" had to have, at the bare minimum, one excellent mic. Everything else--guitar, whatever else-- was maybe improvised as situations dictated. But vocals--man, that was where the money went.

The singer/guitar player is named Tim Congdon... personal friends with Jerry Lee Lewis, for whatever that's worth. Battling cancer these days. Maybe one of these guys with more talent than common sense, not to be cruel or anything.
