Smile Hardcore / Metal mix + master, tell me what you think!

ok, so heres a song from a band i recorded in their practice room using this stuff:

drums: overheads 2x c414, ride c391, hihat c451. kick, snare and toms are triggered.

guitars: mesa dual rectifier w/ mesa cab, e 609 and sm57

bass: sansamp bass driver di

vocals: tlm127

using protools le (digi002r), frontend: focusrite twintrak pro, presonus digimax fs.

i used the twintrak on guitars, bass, vosals and on overheads.

plz comment!

It's sounds real good man!
I might have had another kick sample more plain sounding and a little less paperboard sounding (that might be a little excessive word, but I don't know that means anything to you anyway)
To my ears, the guits and vocals are what you achieved the best.
Congrats
JB

wow, cool song! i agree with above about the kick, but this sort of aesthetic seems prevalent in some forms of metal. the vocals and the guitars rock! stike

thanx so far for the feedback! thumbsup

yeah, i also agree on the bassdrum, i used bfd for the drumsound, that one was more or less the most suitable for this kind of music. anyone have an idea if there is a drumsample collection out there which is suitable for metal/hardcore/rock/metalcore and that kinda stuff? i'm kinda low on samples and using the same ones over and over again is kinda boring...

EZdrummer by Toontrack (DFH "drumkit from hell" is the metal extention, I've never heard the sounds but this particular sound bank has a solid reputation)

thx for the advice! i already tried the drumkit from hell some time ago. sounds really good right out of the box but i cant get it to fit in the mix properly, problem is that the samples are already pre-mixed. same with andy johns classic drums for bfd, they come with eq on them. what i need is raw samples recorded with good preamps and a/d... any ideas?

I REALLY like this! I like the total sound of it and I would love to hear more. Can I find more songs somewhere?

Regards

yeah, on myspace. MySpace.com - DEATH IS AN INSULT TO THE SPIRIT - Hardcore / Punk - www.myspace.com/deathisaninsulttothespirit

ok, this "band" isnt really a band, its actually a project done by people from the blackout argument, ex- paint the town red and teamkiller. they wrote 4 songs in 2 rehearsals and i recorded them in 2 days on location in the rehearsal room. i dont think that they will ever write any more, cuz they're all pretty busy in their main bands.
