I just got this back from mastering and though I`d throw it up for you guys. Tell me what you think of the mix as well as the band.

Again,

The band is good the vocals are nice... The guitar needs some focus, did you mix this in the box?

Love the band, sorry for my first post... I'm drunk, guess I love this kind of music but the mix is 1/2 good... Analog sum and heaven.

Nice band.. pretty good material and well performed.

The drumsound isn't good. It sounds like a stack of cartons.

The bass is undefined and too loud. It sounds "tired".

Vocals sounds a bit too brittle and are to low in the mix.

Guitars are muddy and fighting with the bass. The left guitar distorts a lot.

It could be arranged much better. The guitars take focus away from the vocals A LOT!

The mastering isn't too good either I would say. Hard to say when you haven't heard the mix though. It sounds pretty well frequency wise.. but I would work more with the dynamics.

Tracking - 3/10
Mixing - 4/10
Mastering - 5/10
Performance - 5/10

Overall - Muddy and undefined with some nasty distorsion going on.

This mix is 128 kbps....?

Ok, the mix sounds better without t´he mastering... That's the truth!

How much did you pay for the mastering happening all over the mix...

I can make a quick mastering for you for free with the T-racks... See where I'm hedding.... hedd crain song...

ok anyway this band is cool, love the style and music, vocals.

I'm prepared to give the mastering guy a bit more credit... let's say 7/10 on this. I do like how the dynamics sound in the unmastered version though and I do think he nailed it freq. wise. The "too brittle" vocal is pretty unavoidable in this situation.

Improve on the tracking and mixing and you've got a winner!

Nice done Kev

I like the Neil Young touch in the production. Not really commercial at the moment but in a few years who knows.
