I really like this. It sounds like it turned out exactly as the artist envisioned. Very creative arrangement, mixing, panning. I wouldn't change anything. I'm gonna listen again.

again - thanks for the compliments...

..there were a few things that I thought I could improve on for my next mixes..and I was wondering really if people would notice them..

1) the cymbols....I just had 2 overheads...and I don't really think I have good separation and clarity between the different cymbols. I was reading somewhere that I should maybe think about allocating 1 mic for every two cymbols, and point them sort of away from the hi-hat...and then mic the ride from underneath the cymbol to get good separation there.

2) I wasn't sure if the guitars have that "warm" feeling. I justed use the pre-amps that came with my mixer...and I dunno. I wasn't sure if it was as warm sounding as they could be. And - as for mic pre's...you could theoretically spend thounsands of dollars on those - and I really don't know what's what when it comes to that stuff. Also - would a plugin perhaps do the same job? Anybody have experience with those vs. hardware?

3) when I mic'd the guitars, I basically put the mic very close to the grill at a 45 degree angle, pointed right at the center of the speaker. I now know that's probably not the right way to do it...and I totally hear a fizziness in the guitar tone....and also maybe it's making the mix sound a bit fizzy? I'm not exactly sure. Perhaps it's the way I eq'd everything...I really don't know...

This is just a demo recording...so - I'm trying to figure out everything so it's all set when I record the entire album.. :-)
