Pop/rock mix suggestions / advice

*** UPDATED MIX LINK NOW ***

hey hey!

Just posting this up to hopefully get some ideas / guidance for the mix of this song. I'd consider it a rough mix at this stage, maybe half way there. Getting a little close to it so starting to lose abit of perspective. Don't mind the dodgy rhodes playing in the chorus I'd forgotten to edit that out yet. But any thoughts / suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys,

Pete.

I don't know s

Are you using tempo synced delay on the intro?

It seems nice but I can identify it (hopefully).

The vocal isn't as powerful as I thought it would be at about 1:02+ (chorus)

Maybe if the bass of the snare was partially added to the kick drum, think of a see saw.

The snare isn't helping but it has a good sound I think. Not so deep inside though.

I took 125 and 250hz out in wmp and it sounded awesome and hott.

Allo,

Not tempo synced no - just the fabfilter timeless delay plug that I had noodled with.

YEah, was thinking i might need to fatten up the chorus vox as well, not quite going big enough.

Do you mean you think the snare is a little too 'deep'?

Thanks,

Pete.

is that snare compressed and gated? sounds that way too me - there is pumping on it (overcompressed), and then it is cutting too early.
what i hear of the snare is too much sort of dull thud (note), with not enough crack.

can't honestly say i know how to fix it. maybe sample replace it, cos this one is really not very nice...

i think its great! when i first heard the drum it reminded me of the drums on john mayers continuum.. and that a real big compliment.. nice bluesy snare.. i does fall back in the mix when the chorus comes in but its the best in the verses..
