Advice on post rock mix

Hey guys,

I have a piece of work I have to hand in a few works and have been working on the mix.

Any pointers would be much appreciated. There are a few things I'm particularly happy with this mix, but still thought it would be good for pointers.

you know.. its kinda hard to say with this kindof music...
i feel the guitars (in the first part) miss brightness... but its kinda nice in this arrangement..
i do feel the kick is too compressed and has a high peak that is more a sort of metal kick... snare is nice.. maybe a little bit more bright..
When the hard part comes in the kick is allright but it is still very annoying in the beginning.. maybe use eq automation?
How did you record guitars?

Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated. The guitars are POD XT at the moment. If I get a chance then I may try to reamp them, but it is a matter of time at the moment.

The sound of the kick, is taken on board, and I will try to rectify this.
