Small budget promo from Finland: Wreck - Reykjavik

Hi,

I'd like to hear some feedback from this song i've been recording and mixing. This is a Finnish indie pop/rock group called Wreck from Vantaa/Espoo (near Helsinki).
Drums have been recorded with Dual 1 ghz G4 Powermac, with Logic pro 7
Signal chain Soundcraf Ghost -> Alesis Hd24 -> RME Hammerfall firewire
Rest of the tracks were recorded and mixing was done with Intel Core duo 1,66Ghz Mac Mini, with Pro Tools Le 7.1.1, with Mbox1 and Digi 002.
Sorry about my bad English.
So here's the link:

Thumbs up nice

hi Niko.

i like the song and the vibe AND the recording.
let me preface this by saying i am a hobbyist and NOT a professional engineer/mixer:

the only thing that doesn't sound 100% professional to me is the vocal placement in the mix; this to me is the most difficult thing to achieve, a vocal that stands out yet still blends well with the other tracks.

the dynamics seem nice on this mix (i am listening through headphones so take all this with a grain of salt).
maybe just a tad more 2buss compression would suit the song well.

otherwise, quite stellar work in my opinion!

cheers and keep us posted!

Hi,

thanks for your feedback. What do you mean with the vocal placement?
