Thread Starter | my first soundtrack, opinions? Advice?
Hi I've just started to work on my first soundtrack, for this short action zombie killin movie. I've made this tiny clip to show to the director(who is a very young but competent fellow). Do you guys think i can get away with this kind of thing sonically and musically? I just feel like the more i hear it the more it seems to have not enough power and punch, should i make it more powerful or just stop listening? Thanks guys! |

This is for a zombie movie..? It's not really got the right feel for a film of that nature. I'm not entirely sure what this clip is set to prove though,.. any help?

Thanks Noodles, yeah i guess this is kinda of the mood, the director originally wanted trance with electric guitar stuff, i'm into trance, but his references are skazi and stuff like that, wich i find dont sound very good, so instead of going with "regular trance" i went off in a completely diferent direction. Already showed to the director, he liked it Anyway, youre right Thanks |

That's perfect for a zombie movie! I'm a huge Romero fan and all that good stuff, and I definitely think this would fit into the newer films/remakes. One thing though: The loud Da-Da! that pops up throughout (sorry I can't explain it better) get's a little over bearing at points. I'd bring it down a bit. Other than that, it fits my zombie flavor. Zombie movies always have that ambient type of music playing throughout. In Dawn of the Dead it's quite prevalent. Just a constant sound bed and when you want it to get real spooky you drop out all the sound. |

Thanks for the tip Cult, i'm glad to have feedback from a zombie movie fan (its always hard to describe sounds by typing :P), already removed it, removed some delays also, and decreased some reverb sends, and it has more punch now |
